Leap Day February 29, 2016
This is the final entry for the history of Ross Brothers Farm.
In January 2016, and after 16 years the property was
sold for $24,000. We had completed all that we set out to do. Now only time will
generate the history of the farm.
It was not easy to say good-bye to 16 years of memories, but age and time
had taken its toll. As you read our story,
remember it's history only because it occurred, we lived it.
May God Bless This Piece Of Land And Watch Over All That Set Foot Upon It.

Ross Creek Ridge
Ross Creek Ridge 2016 - 2020
This
is the first entry for Ross Creek Ridge. The property in Magnet
was sold and the new story begins here in Sulphur, Indiana.
Our new address is 6615 S. Smith Mountain Road. A county road located just off
of Interstate 64 and SR 237.
And so, a new chapter begins!
Leap Year February 29, 2020
April 1, 2020
Yes, it has been 4 years since the history of Ross Creek Ridge has been
updated. Why? Because who knows what tomorrow will
bring. I bet the Apple, Chestnut and White Pine trees in Magnet are at their
peak and must be huge now. I bet the iris, Texas
sunflowers and grapes have taken over. So, do I miss our Magnet property? Yes,
BUT I don't miss cutting the grass,
high taxes, and property owner covenants.
I guess the reason for this update now is simple: 2020 Covid-19 World Wide
Pandemic.
In the past 4 years we transformed a heavily wooded and forested area into a new
home away from home. We have
electricity, either collect rain water or truck it in from English. We moved a
number of trees from Magnet to here. So, if you
find any species not natural, then they came from the farm. On a side
note, grandson Jakob did plant a number of
white pines in the spring of 2018. We also transplanted Virginia pines from
Kevin's Scott county property and from the Georgia.
A few years back, a 30 foot camping trailer was purchased and moved in. A nice
porch and deck was also constructed.
Occasionally, Barry does come up to shoot. Sis still despises the country. However,
she does enjoy the short ride to French
Lick, Indiana.)
During the spring of 2019, 10 or 15 guinea hens were purchased. The last I
saw of them, they were running up the power line cut.
During the winter of 2019 and Spring of 2020, a tool shed was constructed along
with a chicken coop. It is really hard to believe
4 years have come and gone.
